The Treatment and Recovery Process:

Establishing a solid foundation is essential in structural correction, much like building a house, which needs to happen in a certain order. Just as you need a strong foundation before putting up walls and a roof, your body requires a specific course of care to heal properly. At Tree of Life, we follow three main phases in ABC™ Treatment to help your body repair itself fully and correctly in the treatment and recovery process.

The Unwinding Process:

Phase 1: Relief Care

When you visit our office in pain, our first goal is to help you find relief. Usually, you can expect to see significant improvement or sometimes even complete resolution of your symptoms in approximately six visits. This initial relief phase typically spans about six weeks in total, because we will still have more work to do on this. Some people might start feeling better even sooner, while others with chronic issues may need more time.

Phase 2:

Rebuilding/Corrective/Stabilisation Care

In the rebuilding and corrective/stabilisation phase, your spine will gradually return to its more ideal posture as it ‘unwinds’ further from past injuries. During this time, your spinal tissues including ligaments, muscles, tendons, discs, bones and joints have the chance to remodel, strengthen, and heal properly. This helps prevent future issues and makes your spine and body in general more resistant to injury.

The length of this rebuilding phase varies for each person and depends on the level of improvement you want to achieve. Typically, you might need care 4-8 times a month for about three months or more to rebuild your spinal/skeletal structures and address the main underlying problems.

Corrective care success is closely tied to how long you stay in active care. An essential aspect of this phase is learning and implementing lifestyle adjustments at home. Following this advice is crucial for the best possible results.

Phase 3:

Maintenance/Ongoing Care

After your spine has healed sufficiently and you’ve restored much of your balance, alignment, and strength; it’s a good idea to keep up with regular maintenance care. Our daily lives can put a lot of strain on our bodies, and by catching any newly introduced issues early, we can prevent them from becoming long-term problems again. Typically, most people at this stage do well with an adjustment every 1 to 3 months to stay on track and maintain their progress.
